AI visibility · The process
How AI visibility works
when you measure it instead of guessing.
An AI assistant builds its answer from what the web says about a business: its own site, its listings, its reviews and what other sites mention. Our process has four parts. Ask the assistants and save what they say, fix the facts they read, rewrite pages so there’s something clear to quote, then ask the same questions again.

What an assistant reads
Four signals decide whether your name comes up.
None of them are secret. Most businesses just never check them from the assistant’s side.
- 01
Clear facts
What you do and where, stated plainly on your own site instead of implied by a slogan.
- 02
Consistent details
The same name, address and phone across the web, so nothing contradicts itself.
- 03
Outside mentions
Reviews, directories and other sites saying the same things you say about yourself.
- 04
Quotable answers
Pages that answer customer questions directly, with something clean to lift.
Sound familiar?
You asked an assistant about your own business. The answer was wrong.
- First try
“It listed our old address from a directory we never updated.”
- Second try
“Asked it differently. Now it names a competitor.”
- Later
“There’s no way to control what it says.”
You can’t control it. You can fix what it reads.
That’s the whole method. The answers change when the sources change, so the work goes into the sources: your site, your listings, your reviews and your content. Then the same questions get asked again, and you see for yourself what moved.
It doesn’t name the best business. It names the one it’s most sure about.
The method
Four steps, in this order.
- 01
Audit: measure where you stand
The real questions customers ask, run across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews. Named, cited or absent, and who appears instead, saved as a baseline.
- 02
Foundation: make the facts readable
Business, service and FAQ schema, name and address cleanup across listings, and a complete, correctly categorized Google profile.
- 03
Content: make the answers quotable
Key pages rewritten into clear questions and direct answers, with FAQ schema that says the same thing as the page.
- 04
Monitor: ask again
The same questions re-run on a schedule, competitor mentions watched, content refreshed, and a report of what moved.
Proof, before the pitch
Real evidence should survive an incognito window.
Result one
A Troy med spa we relaunched, already winning its market.
Rêve came to AlbaTech for a full relaunch. We rebuilt the site, the local-search foundation and the review engine together, and the treatments people actually search for now surface the business.
- Search: med spa troy
- Market: Troy, Michigan
- Result: first web result
- First web result under the map, and it holds that spot every time we check
- In the map pack too, highest rated of the three at 5.0 from 111 reviews
- Also in the pack for botox troy and laser hair removal troy

Result two
Our own studio, first for “microblading Michigan”.
Fine Strokes is our own studio. We built the website and the local search setup around the service customers actually search for. We ran the method on our own business before we sold it to anyone.
- Search: microblading Michigan
- Market: Birmingham, Michigan
- Result: first position shown

Measured, not guessed
What you see at each end.
The audit takes a few days. Foundation and content work usually takes a few weeks, depending on site size, and AI answers catch up over the weeks after that.
The baseline answers
What each assistant said about you and your competitors, saved word for word.
A list of what changed
Every schema addition, listing fix and page rewrite, written down.
The same questions, again
Re-run and compared, so the result is something you can check.
The rules
Three rules for AI visibility work.
They’re what separates a process from a pitch.
- Evidence
Raw answers, kept
No summary score without the actual responses behind it.
- Honesty
No promise of a mention
Nobody controls what a model says. We improve what it has to work with.
- Order
Basics before AI
If the site or listings are broken, that’s what gets fixed first.
The honest receipt
This page ranks near the top. The AI proof is still to come.
In Search Console, this page earned 3 impressions in 90 days at an average position of 7.3, first page. What we don’t have yet is a captured AI answer naming a client. The proof above is Google results, and we label it that way.
- This page: 3 impressions, position 7.3
- “ai visibility audit”: 1 impression, position 16
- Captured AI answers naming a client: none yet
When a before-and-after AI answer is ready to publish, it replaces this card.

Common questions
About how AI visibility works.
How long does the whole process take?+
The audit takes a few days. Foundation and content work usually takes a few weeks, depending on site size. AI answers refresh on their own schedule, so movement tends to show over the weeks after.
Do you need to rebuild my website?+
Usually not. Most of the work is schema, listings cleanup and content changes on your existing site. If the site itself is holding you back, we’ll say so.
Can I do the fixes myself?+
Yes. The audit hands you a ranked fix list you can run in-house. The Tune-Up is for when you’d rather we implement it.
Is this different from SEO?+
It shares the same foundation. SEO checks how you rank in Google’s links. This checks whether assistants name and cite you in their answers.
What we turn down
No black box.
- No summary score without raw answers
- No promise that a model will name you
- No AI work over broken basics
- No changes we don’t write down
The ownership promise
Every fix stays with you.
The schema, content, listings and the saved AI answers belong to your business. The evidence is yours to keep and compare.
