Nova Microblading case study

a Shopify supply store built for professional PMU artists.

Nova Microblading sells pigments, blading pens, and precision tools to working permanent-makeup artists. We built the brand a Shopify store of its own: organized collections, product pages written in the language artists actually use, and a checkout that accepts more than 150 currencies.

Nova Microblading website built by AlbaTech
  • Full Shopify build for a professional PMU supply brand: product catalog, collection pages, and secure checkout.
  • Four shoppable collections (Pigments, Toka Tools, Nova Tools, and PMU Supplies) each mapped directly into the main navigation, plus a dedicated aftercare page.
  • Checkout that supports over 150 currencies, with the free-shipping threshold (orders above $125) surfaced across the store.
  • Product pages that speak to working artists: blade counts, pigment shades, and tool-selection guidance instead of generic descriptions.
The Leak

The product line was ready. The storefront was the missing piece.

What was leaking: professional reorders. Artists who buy by blade spec and reorder on a cycle don’t fight a clumsy category tree twice, they switch suppliers. Every point of friction between landing and checkout was revenue walking to a store that made it easier.
Microblading supplies are a technical purchase. An artist shopping for an 18 U blade or a specific brow pigment shade knows exactly what she needs before she ever lands on the site. The store's only job is to let her find it fast, confirm it's the right spec, and pay without friction. Nova had the goods to sell: Speedy pigments in light, medium, and dark brown, disposable blading pens, eco-friendly bamboo Toka tools, practice skins, and PMU cartridge needles.
Selling to professionals raises the bar. These buyers reorder the same tools on a cycle, compare blade configurations across product lines, and place orders from studios in different countries. A storefront with vague categories or a clumsy checkout loses those orders quietly, and no one emails to tell you why they left.
So the brief was direct: give every product line a clear home, keep the path from landing page to paid order short, and hand the whole catalog to the brand to run. It's the same discipline we apply when we market for microblading and PMU businesses on the service side: know precisely who the buyer is, then build the shortest honest route to the sale.
What We Built

One Shopify store, organized the way artists buy

Full Product Catalog

Every SKU on Shopify with clean photography and spec-first descriptions: pigments by shade, pens by blade count, cartridges, practice skins, and mapping accessories.

Four Core Collections

Pigments, Toka Tools, Nova Tools, and PMU Supplies each get their own collection page, wired straight into the main menu so any product line is one click from the homepage.

Worldwide Checkout

Shopify's secure checkout configured with support for more than 150 currencies, so a studio abroad can order and pay in its own money.

Free-Shipping Merchandising

The $125 free-shipping threshold is displayed storewide, so buyers know the bar before they reach the cart, not after.

Aftercare Resource

A dedicated aftercare section gives artists post-procedure guidance to pass along to their clients, keeping the store useful beyond the transaction.

Brand & Retention Basics

Email signup, Instagram and Facebook links, and educational content on technique and tool selection, the pieces that turn a first order into a repeat customer.

The Outcome

What Nova Microblading runs on today

4

Collections That Match How Artists Shop

Pigments, Toka Tools, Nova Tools, and PMU Supplies mirror the catalog exactly, so a returning buyer can reorder a specific blade or shade in seconds.

150+

Currencies Accepted at Checkout

International studios browse and pay in their own currency, which removes one of the most common reasons an overseas cart gets abandoned.

$125

A Free-Shipping Bar Buyers Can See

The threshold is visible on every page, giving professional buyers a clear reason to round out an order instead of discovering shipping costs at the end.

All

Of It in the Client's Hands

Products, prices, inventory, and discounts are managed from the Shopify admin by the brand itself, no developer required for day-to-day changes.
